Quinta da Chocapalha
Alenquer, Portugal
This is a family project, where nature breathes history. In 1987, Alice e Paulo Tavares da Silva turned a 16th century vineyard estate into their life project, at Aldeia Galega de Merceana, in Alenquer. With the technical guidance of Sandra Tavares da Silva, the couple’s daughter, they produce wines which respect the terroir of the demarcated region of Lisbon, with the Serra do Montejunto as backdrop, between an abundant vegetation, influenced by the clay-limestone soils, thermal amplitude and sea freshness.
The estate’s 70 hectares also produce the sweet and juicy rocha pear, with the stamp of Protected Designation of Origin Rocha do Oeste.
