Rozès Wines
Porto, Portugal
Ostend Rozès started the Port wine business in Bordeaux in 1855. His son created the Porto Rozès brand and gave him a bottle that became associated specifically with Port wine, with a paper-wrapped neck and a sealed stopper with wax.
For four generations, until 1977, the company continued in the family. This was the first exporter group to settle in the demarcated region of the Douro and it is nowadays integrating the portfolio of the Vranken Pommery Monopole group since 1999 with nine farms, some cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia and an industrial unit in Lamego, from where the wine is sent to 40 countries.
