Vranken Pommery
France
In 1976, Paul-François Vranken started the empire that is now one of the largest wine producers in Europe. In 2002, purchasing Maison Pommery, number one worldwide producer of rosé wines and number two producer of champagne, was a decisive step in the group’s affirmation.
Headquartered in a castle in the heart of the city of Reims, in the Champagne region, the Pommery cellars extend for 18 kilometres of corridors where 20 million bottles rest at a temperature of 10º C.
Extending their portfolio of international brands across close to 90 countries, the group reached Portugal in 1986, where they own properties in Douro and cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia.
