Sandrone
The Sandrone story is of an opportunity taken and its happy result: Luciano acquired a small parcel of the famous Cannubi in 1977 and the response since his first 1978 vintage has been enthusiastic and sustained. From the start, Luciano and his brother Luca have worked for nothing less than excellence, and Luciano's daughter Barbara carries his message to wine lovers around the world. The 27ha of vineyards are meticulously cared for and represent the very best Barolo and Roero have to offer. Balance is their keyword: in the cellar, between innovation and tradition, and in the wines, between elegance and power, longevity and drinking pleasure.
They have chosen to work with only 3 autochthonous varietals (Dolcetto, Barbera and Nebbiolo) and with patience and time they have selected plots of land where altitude, exposure and composition of the ground best suit each grape variety.
It is in the vineyard that quality has birth. Every wine is the product of the expression of single characteristics of each parcel, with its soil, its microclimate, its yeasts and its character. This process is possible only when there is knowledge and respect for the individuality of each vineyard, constant care and dedicated attention, at all times.
They never stand still: in the last years Sabdrone purchased parcels of the two vineyards Baudana and Villero and in 2011 they became part of Barolo Le Vigne. Furthermore they fulfilled their dream to expand the library stock from where the Barolo and Nebbiolo d'Alba Valmaggiore go back to the world, enhanced by a special seal: "Sibi & Paucis".
Currently the estate produces between 90-100,000 bottles per year with the lineup of 5 bottling: Dolcetto d'Alba, Barbera d'Alba, Nebbiolo d'Alba Valmaggiore, Barolo Le Vigne and Barolo Aleste
