Christoph and Matthias Neumeister are leading the Neumeister vineyard in Straden in the Vulkanland Styria region in the third generation.
The steep and demanding vineyards in Straden, which have been managed organically and biologically since 2013, are characterized by very calcareous sediment soils from the tertiary (sandstone, mussel stone) and “Sarmatschotter”. The Illyrian-Pannonian mixed climate with high precipitation allows a long growing season and late harvest. Handles, long mashing times as well as a careful and slow expansion result in profound, complex and elegant wines with clear origin. The premium vineyard locations include Saziani and Moarfeitl (GSTK) as well as Klausen and Steintal (1STK).
The family runs the restaurant, Saziani Stub'n 'and the boutique hotel' Schlafgut Saziani 'in the immediate vicinity of the winery.
