Klaus Erfort
Gästehaus Erfort
Before opening his own restaurant, Erfort worked as chef Cuisine at Restaurant Orangerie at Parkhotel Gengenbach and the Imperial in Bühl, both of which gained a Michelin star during his attendance. In 2002, Chef Erfort opened his own restaurant the Gästehaus Erfort in Saarbrücken which reached royal league gaining three Michelin stars within only six years of opening. He was of the youngest generation of Michelin chefs to be awarded with a star, at the age of just 21.
His career led him to work in German kitchens, not far from where he was born. Humble though this may seem, these close-to-home kitchens held big names like Claus-Peter Lumpp and Harald Wohlfahrt, meaning Erfort learned from the best. Today he wants to impress his guests with a clear and structured line. His dishes consist of few ingredients, which have to convince – and they do.
