Born in Segovia, chef Óscar Velasco (2 Michelin stars, Santceloni restaurant, Madrid) celebrated the end of the cooking course at the distinguished restaurant Zalacaín, the first to get three Michelin stars in Spain. He continued among the best: Martín Berasategui and then Santi Santamaría, first at Can Fabes, then at Santceloni, where he continued the work of his mentor.
In 2006 was distinguished with the Chef L’Avenir award and, the following year, Best Chef, by the National Academy of Gastronomy. He also runs the D.O.Mar, in Marbella, where the Atlantic, the Mediterranean and the Bay of Biscay sit at the same table.
