For Hubert Wallner, cooking is not just a profession, it is also a passion! Born on 18 November 1976 as the son of a family hotel family in Lower Austria, he collected first experiences with his mother, an enthusiastic cook. After the elementary school, the chef, who was awarded many prizes today, completed the Hotelfachschule at the WiFi St. Pölten and completed the concessionary and training exam. He also completed the examinations as a diet and hospital cook, as well as the kitchen master's examination with distinction and was trained as a tourism expert.
As a young cook, he studied with famous Star Chefs such as Heinz Hanner, Hans Haas, Hermann Huber, Toni Mörwald and Martin Sieberer or in renowned 4-star houses such as the Schwarzer Adler (Leonding), Wirlerhof (Galtür) or Hotel Übergossene Alm (Leogang). Over the stations of a Gardemanger, Chef Saucier and Sous Chef finally landed 1999 in Martin Sieberers restaurant Paznauner Stube in the 5-star hotel Trofana Royal in Tyrol.
Subsequently, two very successful years followed in Switzerland, before his commitment as a kitchen chef to the Caramé restaurant led him back to Austria. There he won the title "Cook of the Year 2007". In 2010, Hubert Wallner finally found his home in the See Restaurant Saag, layed in a marvelous position directly on Lake “Wörthersee”, which was celebrated by San Pellegrino as "the best new opening of the year in Austria" and has since become the absolute gourmet hotspot.
